VENTURA VELO is a non-profit public-benefit corporation and a 501c3 public charity registered with the IRS. We are dedicated to cycling advocacy, sustainability and community service.  Our staff of volunteers donate time, labor and efforts to support safe cycling and community charities without financial compensation. Bob Marye of New Orleans area Habitat for Humanity accepts a check from Paul Callaway of Ventura Velo at the Musician's Village site.   Monies from fundraising events are used to support Ventura Velo's bicycling advocacy and safety programs as well as charitable organizations selected by V.V. Board of Directors.  Ventura Velo has donated the majority of ride proceeds to the American Cancer Society,  the Arthritis Foundation, Avon Walk for the Cure, Habitat for Humanity, the MS Society,  Red Cross  & Ventura City Core & other non-profit partners.         V.V. SAG wagon and Volunteers working the ride.	Our staff continues to actively  sponsor & participate in the maintenance of local cycling routes. You, the local riders can help by being our eyes in the field. Please report where safety hazards are located by emailing us and crews will follow up.	TEAM Ventura Velo @ the California Coast Classic Tour (CCCT),  a 10-day, 500 mile charity bike ride sponsored by Amgen.    NEWS FLASH! 2010 TEAM Captain is Ken Prosser!   THANKS to 2009, Team Captain Craig Reinhart who did a great job. All 10 team members finished the ride with flying colors raising over $31,000 for The Arthritis Foundation (AF) and over $65,000 in previous years. Team Ventura Velo at MS Society Ride Oct. 2009   M S Society SoCal Tour   was a great success led by Team Captain Marilyn Becker, whose infectious enthusiasm inspired all present.  Riding again in this year's CCCT and MS Bike Tours, Team Ventura Velo members have started training and fundraising.   Please check out the team's donation webpages for an update on member's current fundraising efforts.
